My Testimony by William Stewart.

Author on holiday with the Lisburn group July 2001.

Hello, My name is William Stewart,
born in the heart of Belfast, N. Ireland on 4th September 1938. Fifth in a happy family of eight children.

At the age of four and half years I contracted Stills Disease (a form of arthritis that attacks younger children) which left me in the state you see in the photo to the right.

Born Again.

On 16th of February 1954 I came under conviction of sin while reading a gospel tract given to me by sister Ann, and asked the Lord Jesus Christ to take my life and let it be consecrated to Him.

And though I have slipped a number of times since then, yet by His Grace He brought me back from the broad road to the narrow way.

He has brought me through many sorrows and hard times but He has not failed me yet, and never will, for He has promised, ”When you pass through the waters I will be with you“ .

So while I do not claim to be perfect, I am after all, only a sinner saved by grace!

Interests and hobbies

Author, Mug shotA member of the Bethel Baptist Church, East Belfast, and a member of the Lisburn and East Belfast Branches DCFI, my hobbies include Amateur Radio, (callsign Gi4MYT) oil-painting, computing, web page design.

But my dearest interest is running a small Bible Group every Tuesday afternoon in the Island Resource Centre, average attendance is about six or seven but can rise on occasions to about sixteen.

It has been a privilege over the years to see a number of folk come to know the Lord as Saviour and to see others strengthened or renewed in their faith, and that after all is my mission in life.
