Wendy Campbell.
Wendy joined the Staff of the Holiday Home as part-time Administrative Assisant in June 2002.
Here is her testimony.
"I thank the Lord, that I had the privilege of being brought up in a Christian home, and from an early age I was sent along to Mourne Presbyterian Church, Sunday School, Girls' Brigade, Youth Clubs and Youth Fellowship.Through these organisations, I knew that I had to ask the Lord for forgiveness and to come into my life, but I kept putting it off, and thinking that I had plenty of time, I was young and it was something for an 'older' person to do.
One evening an Open Air Service in Cranfield was arranged by our local churches, but being in Mourne it rained, so the 'Open Air' was indoors!
That night I remember the speaker leaving a question with everyone, 'if you went out of here tonight and were in an accident, or something else happened you, where would you be?'
This really challenged me, because I knew what my answer was, so that night I gave my life to the Lord.Since that night there have been many difficult times, one verse from which I find encouragement is I Cor. 10:13, 'No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.
And God is faithful: he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can stand under it.'In 1988 our Church had a Youth Mission, this was a time of encouragement, in more ways than one, here I met George, whom I later married, we have two children, Lynn (6) and Stephen (2).
I joined the Staff on D.C.F.I. on 24th June 2002.
I felt the Lord leading me into serving Him through this job.'Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your way acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths'. Prov 3:5-6.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their welcome, support and prayers.
'Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord and not for men. Col. 3:23."
