personal testimony
"SNATCHED FROM THE JAWS OF DEATH"
My name is Nigel Campbell, and I pray that you will enjoy my testimony of saving faith in Jesus Christ.
Let me quote you a verse of one of my favorite hymns. Is there a heart o'erbound by sorrow?
Is there a life weighed down by care?
Come to the cross, each burden bearing -
All your anxiety, leave it there. As a young boy I attended the Coleraine Boys' Secondary School for a short time.
At that time I lived in a village called the Loughan, between Coleraine and Ballymoney.
There, I attended the local Sunday School at the Church of Ireland, but sad to say, I never heard my need of being saved. At the age of fourteen in October 1981, I fell off a bicycle and was admitted to Coleraine hospital, with a fracture on the left-hand side of my head.
My life was to change for ever.
During my stay, I became unconscious for a short time and my heart stopped, but the doctors managed to bring me back to life.
As a result of the fracture a blood clot formed and I was rushed to theatre.
The clot was successfully removed; however, as a result I become visually impaired.I was unconscious for about two weeks and then remained semi-conscious for some weeks.
After some eight months in hospital, I was discharged on 2nd June 1982 and went to live with my Aunt and Uncle, who treated me as one of their own family. One day my Aunt asked me if I ever thought about getting saved, to which I replied, no.
As time went on I began to realize my need of being saved.
One day the minister came to talk with me and he read Psalm 34.Afterwards I prayed asking the Lord to save me, and the burden of sin rolled away.
I knew from that moment I was redeemed for evermore.
My sins were all under the blood of the Lamb.
Many today have heartaches and problems, but if they would only come to the Lord Jesus and be saved, the Lord can give them new life within.
I thank God He has brought me into the Free Presbyterian Church where I hear the gospel preached every Sunday.
I also give thanks to God, that He has given me a Christian wife and that the Lord Jesus is Lord of both our lives.
John 3:3 "Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God".Coleraine Branch.
