My Testimony

'I'm only a sinner, saved by grace',

There wasn't a time in my life when I didn't believe in God.
I was sent to Church and Sunday School, also at my day school the Minister of the local Church came in and took Religious Instruction.

Each year we had examinations set by the Church.
I also went to Faith Mission meetings.
I always said the Lord's Prayer morning and night.

I had a fear when I was young that if I did something naughty that God would be angry with me.
As I grew into an adult I got away from the things of Church for a while.
I went to a dancing class on a Saturday night, met some boy friends.

Then one night at a social l met a boy who was nice, reserved and didn't drink or smoke.
He invited me to a social in a local Orange Hall where the Methodist Church held it each year.
He told me that he couldn't dance but that the Methodists didn't go in for dancing.

However, things went ahead from there.
We went steady for a year, then got engaged, and about mohths later got married.
One year later my daughter came along.

Some time passed but then things started to change, God's power of conviction was on me as I was travelling about.

Texts which were nailed to trees or on the gable walls of houses puzzled me.
The one in particular was John 3: 3, How could anyone be born again?
Jesus answered Nicodemus. I am telling you the truth no one can see the Kingdom of God unless he is born again.

A person is born physically of human parents but he is born spirituallv by the Holy Spirit.
As this truth revealed it self to me, I went from my bed, down to the lounge, and I repented of my sins and gave my life over to God.

John 3: 16 tells us
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.“

My Lord and Saviour has kept me.
Brought me through bereavement when Tommy, my husband, was called to be with the Lord.
When I was diagnosed with cancer in 1999, He brought me through the treatment.
Praise the Lord for He alone is worthy.
