Newtownabbey Branch Profile.
Our branch was formed in November 1976 some 28 years ago.
Mrs Mabel Shaw pioneered the work and was very enthusiastic and active.
She motivated and encouraged us all until recently when she moved to the Dungannon area but she still keeps in touch.
We have 50 members and 21 helpers at present.
We have no problems with our transport.
Our transport manager phones everyone to see if they are well enough to come and I am in touch with him too and let him know if anyone is ill.
At our rallies we have a bookstall and a craft stall.
Some of our members knit and crotchet to help with our funds.
Our branch uses the Holiday Home for two main holidays (one in the Spring and one in the Summer) and then some individuals go later on in the year.
.
We have been blessed in our rallies with good attendance and excellent speakers.
Everyone enjoys the fellowship and cannot wait until next month. We need prayer for: –
· younger helpers
· younger disabled to use the Home
· more members to use the Home over the winter season.MARY JONES – SECRETARY
