Bangor Branch Profile.

Bangor Branch was formed in 1980 and for the first 17 years had its home at the Stricklands complex.
Due to demolition of much of the site, we moved first to Rosemary Park Baptist but are presently holding our rallies at West Presbyterian Church Hall.
However at the time of preparing this article (2003) the plan is that we will happily have returned to Stricklands and be meeting in their newly-built Recreation Hall.

The Branch membership stands at 45 approx. of whom 19 are wheelchair users whilst the majority of the remainder rely on some form of aid or suffer from one of the recognised disability categories.

We benefit from the use of 4 special buses (two free from Social Services – one on hire from Disability Action – and the use of Stricklands own bus).

In common with a number of Branches we could well do with an increase in the number of Helpers though we still manage to visit those members who find themselves hospitalised or experience special difficulties.
Members are encouraged to take part in the Rally by way of Bible reading, poems by our two resident poets, and the occasional solo.
Our Quizzes are a popular feature.

A great blessing is that of being on holiday at Newcastle and we look forward to this year's (2003) holiday as we likewise anticipate our Outing in June.
